Where To Buy Stack Wine ^NEW^

I was so excited to visit this winery since Sequoia Grove Cabernet is one of my favorite wines! We did a tasting and came to find different varietals that we liked just as much as their traditional Cabernet. The sommeliers were also extremely knowledgeable and made the whole experience extremely enjoyable.

My finest food and wine pairing in the valley to date. The new space is comfortable, stylish and clean. The presentation of the experience is superb. The host was knowledgeable and professional while still warm and welcoming. Highly recommended.

There used to be an easy mantra for food and wine pairing: white wine with white meat, red wine with red meat. But we have always found that perspective far too limiting. Instead, we prefer to focus on how simple flavors and ingredients are better indicators of a great combination.

Cab Sauv is the Cadillac of red wines. Woodbridge Robert Mondavi Stack Cabernet Sauvignon captivates the nose with fruity notes of berries and cherries, a whiff of cedar, and sweet brown sugar and toast. Berries carry through to the taste, bringing with them a nostalgic blast of s'mores - graham cracker, chocolate, toasted marshmallow. Serve with pasta and a tomato-based sauce or with grilled meat.

93 Points 2016 Barrel Aged Sauvignon Blanc"Complex and composed, this vineyard-designate wine is brightly decorated in flavors of grapefruit pith and lemon zest, with zippy acidity. As it develops in the glass, richer elements of peach and apricot flesh out the palate with succulent aplomb."

The 2017 Stack House Cabernet Sauvignon bursts from the glass with an intense plethora of dark brooding fruits including black currant, blackberry pie, black cherry and huckleberry compote. Following the fruit, layers of crushed volcanic rock, wet earth, toasty oak, baking spice and black pepper emerge. This full-bodied wine exhibits vibrant acidity, massive structure and an everlasting finish, all characteristic of the beautiful warm low yielding vintage. Composed of almost all hillside fruit, this is an amazing value of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. It is a blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot and 6% Cabernet Franc.

The husband and wife Stackhouse team are comprised of winemaker Anna Monticelli and Mario Monticelli. Anna's journey began at the University of California Davis, where she earned a degree in Viticulture and Enology. She spent her fourth year studying at the Sorbonne in Paris, France. After completing her degree in California, she returned to France to work the 2000 vintage at Château Cheval-Blanc. She was very fortunate to work for their technical director, Kees Van Leeuwen, one of the foremost viticulture professors in Bordeaux. Anna then moved to the Napa Valley and spent two years as the assistant winemaker at Seavey Vineyard before working for five years as the assistant winemaker at Bryant Family Vineyard. In 2007, she became the winemaker at Piña Napa Valley, where she crafts single vineyard designate Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon wines. Anna's husband, Mario, was born into a family whose roots as winemakers span four generations. His father emigrated from Italy to California where he has worked for over 40 years making wine for Gallo. He introduced Mario to the family business when Mario was still a child, instilling in him a passion that defines his life. Mario earned degrees in both Viticulture and Enology and Italian at the University of California Davis. He honed his craft working a harvest in Tuscany at Villa Antinori, then spent four years working as the assistant winemaker for consultant Philippe Melka for numerous Napa Valley producers. He spent three years as the winemaker for Quixote Winery before assuming the role of winemaker for Trinchero Napa Valley in 2007.

Anna then moved to the Napa Valley and spent two years as the assistant winemaker at Seavey Vineyard. And then working for five years as the assistant winemaker at Bryant Family Vineyard. Finally, in 2007, she became the winemaker at Piña Napa Valley, where she crafts single-vineyard designate Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon wines and where she makes the Ilaria and Sergio wines.

Upon her return to California, she was the Assistant Winemaker at Seavey Vineyard under Philippe Melka in Napa Valley for two years. She followed this up by being the Assistant Winemaker at Bryant Family Vineyard for four and half years before becoming winemaker at Piña Napa Valley in 2007 and finally branching off to make several personal projects on her own.

Winemaking is a family affair in the Monticelli home. Her husband, Mario, has worked alongside legendary winemaker Philippe Melka at Quintessa , Hundred Acre , Vineyard 29 , Melka , and Lail . Born into a family whose roots as winemakers span four generations, Mario's father emigrated from Italy to California, where he has worked for over 50 years making wine for Gallo. He introduced Mario to the family business when Mario was still a child, instilling a passion that defines Mario and Anna's lives today. Anna and Mario now travel to Italy with their three children where they have winemaking projects in Barolo, Chianti, Maremma Toscana and Abruzzo and make wines in Napa, including Tether and Stack House.

"We believe life should be enjoyed on a daily basis, taking a seat around the table where good food and fine wine are elevated by great company and lively conversation. It all stacks up to a life fulfilled and that's the philosophy that drives Stack House." Anna Monticelli

Since we are located at the Crossroads of the California wine country, most of our selections are the best California wines we can find, but we will come across some great small-production wines from around the world to send you if we know you will love it.

Personalize your Club Membership: After signing up for the club, you will be contacted by one of our wine consultants to find out if there are any varietals you particularly enjoy or may not like to receive. We'll make a note of that in your profile and make sure to send you wines we think you will love.

Brix26 Inside Scoop: "Stephanie Cabernet comes from relative Napa Valley newcomer Hestan Vineyards, who are turning out some great high-end wines. The Stephanie Cabernet has quietly become one of our top-selling Cabernets over the last 3 vintages for good reason: its got all the hallmarks of a "classic" California Cabernet: plenty of rich berry fruit and that dusty tannin; not a wimpy Cab and not a giant fruit bomb. If you're a Cab-lover, Stephanie should be next on your wish list. Every time a customer calls and asks what new Cabernet we recommend, we'll send them Stephanie and 9 times out of ten they reorder a case!"

I'd like to gift one to mama and one in my bf. Can I drink one and ask for an extra glass (which I will pay it's atomic price)? That would mean that I would walk away with two glasses, while drinking only one glass of wine.

Most people at Christmas markets will be able to help you if you speak English. If you don't feel comfortable discussing it with them, you could buy one wine and a "Kinderpunch" a non-alcoholic version of the drink so that you have two cups but not that much alcohol. Alternatively -- and this may be a little weird -- you could offer to buy another person's cup off of them for the price of the deposit. I'd probably just go with buying two drinks, paying the deposit and keeping the cups. 041b061a72
